Cladding and Finishes for Modular Changing Rooms

Guide

The building is only half the decision. How your changing rooms look in their setting decides whether neighbours, committees and planners welcome them, and cladding is how a modular building earns its place beside a pitch, in a park or next to a listed pavilion. This guide covers every finish we offer and when to choose each.

Steel in Any RAL Colour

Steel cabins come factory finished in any standard RAL colour. Greens and greys are the club favourites: moss green recedes into hedgerows and tree lines, and light grey reads clean and municipal. Steel is the low maintenance choice, and the same price in every colour.

Timber Effect Steel

Golden oak and log cabin effect finishes give the warmth of wood on a steel building: the look of timber with the security and maintenance profile of steel. Our Kegworth Imperials and Westfield FC buildings both use golden oak effect, and it is the most popular finish we supply for club sites.

Real Timber Cladding

For settings that call for the real thing: Western red cedar, shiplap and log lap cladding over a steel or timber frame building. Cedar silvers beautifully with age and is the finish of choice for nature reserves, campsites and heritage settings. Pitched and tiled roofs are available where a cabin profile would look out of place.

Building in a Conservation Area?

This is where cladding decides planning outcomes. In conservation areas, national parks, the green belt and near listed buildings, planners will often resist a plain steel box but support the same building in natural timber or timber effect cladding with a pitched roof. We regularly specify natural finishes exactly for this reason, and our planning drawings show the cladding and roof treatment so the planning officer sees the finished building in context, not a shipping container.

If you are unsure what your site needs, read our guide on planning permission for sports changing rooms, or send us a photo of the setting and we will recommend a finish.

Finishes From Our Projects

Interior finishes matter too: all buildings are insulated and lined with wipe clean panelling and slip resistant floors as standard. Choose any floor plan and any finish; see the full range of floor plans.

Not Sure Which Finish Suits Your Site?

Send us a photo of the setting with your team count and budget, and we’ll recommend a floor plan and finish, with a guide price within two working days.
